Surf Popper?

snapper hunter

I would like to know if they actually do work. I'm not a beach fisho but surely the best thing about poppers is the splash and the noise, both of these must be cancelled out by the surf. Thats not to say that a surface lure doesnt have other features.

Let us know how it goes.

G'day mate,

Surf poppers indeed work a treat.

Here's a report of my first Salmon caught of the beach on one in the colour you've got.

Rig them on a paternosta rig. Use a pillie on ganged hooks on one dropper and the popper on the other. The pillie attracts the fish and they take the popper... that's the theory anyway.

Cheers

David.

i usually rig up as for normal beach fishing and leave the popper free to run up and down the main line with a swivle to let it slide up and down easier. this then just sits in the surf and bops up and down with the wave action.

not sure if that makes sense at all but hope it helps?

as for rock fishing im not sure but theres only one way to find out.

let us know how you go, id be interested to see how it does too.

Damien
