  2. Hi all. I have savage pro angler 4.8m. Getting over the tournament scene and looking to get a new boat. Something I can go outside in ( not too far ), something I can still fish the occasional bream comp in, safe for the family, easy to get on and off trailer and something with a little comfort. I have round 20k max to spend. Looking forward to hearing from you all
  3. i was looking at the GOMOKU rods by storm. Anyone go one or used one? What have you used them on? what reel? line? terminal tackle?

  6. Haven't posted in ages but thought I'd share this one. Friday afternoon and the GF says what are we gonna do? So we pack a few light rods and off to the northern beaches area. No where I call have live worms so we settle on dry worms. We catch a lot of little snapper and my GF catches her first grinner. Sun going down and we fish till dark with not much luck. As we are walking back to the car we notice the crabs are out on the sand flats so I grab a few and we make a stop on the way home to throwing a crab or two. Within 5mins my rod gets smacked hard by a 30 plus fat bream. I put it back to fight another day. 2 mins later my GF rod gets nailed by a 46cm whiting what a fight. Finally landed it after a few tricky moments she decides yep she have that one for dinner the next night. Nothing like a quick fish after work! Cheers Damien.
  7. Hi all, Long time since I've posted but been online nearly everyday. Fished the BETS round one in Sydney Harbour on Sunday..... Tough day I am going out on a charter out of Port Hacking this weekend. We are trolling for kings, salmon and tuna. Also going to be fishing in 20-30m of water at a reefy spot anchored up. I will be bringing a rod. Anyone got some advice on plastics, lures, etc I should bring???! Cheers Damien

  19. lice eating big live baits too???? they were stripping them in 30mins or less. wow! cheers for that
  20. i have a question if anyone knows the answer. i went fishing at woy woy last wed afternoon through to thurs morning. whilst the sun was up all was good and alot of little snapper and nibblers. but once the sun went down we started fishing with live baits (one squid the rest yakkas) and fresh squid. caught alot of eels, massive rays, one big shovel nose and one occy. when we had the live yakkas out for around 30mins or so and brought them up to check they were covered in these white bug things that looked like the witch doctors you find inside some fish mouths but these things were covering the yakkas and eating them. a few i brought up were to the bone. as soon as we lifted the bait out of the water they released and jumped back into the water. there would be atleast 12 or so on each lift average. the jewies came through only once the entire night through just about three tide changes and for only 5mins where we dropped 3 in the 5mins. there was alot of that fosforus stuff in the water. water was cold. they were there through fast running water and dead still water. we fished from 7metres to 20metres and they were there. i have a feeling these creatures were causing the lack of fish caught. does anyone know what these are or seen this before??? they totally destroyed every fresh bait live or dead. Looking forward to answers.
