paulg
I WAS JUST WONDERING WHAT YOUR THOUGHTS WERE ON THE BEST TOP 2 BAITS FOR THE ABOVE SPECIES. I have spent a lot of time the last few weeks catching poddy mullet, soldiers crabs and nippers and have found that the catch rate using this bait is only 5-10% of the fish I have caught. The above baits seem to be stripped from pickers, and not worth the effort. I am finding pilchards and chicken working alot better atm, recent catches include an 81 cm 5kilo flathead, and many above 30cm bream. interested in your thoughts. cheers. Davemmm
You may be losing baits to pickers (especially the nippers) but I bet you end up with more hits using those fresh baits than if you use the frozen pillie or chook. IMHO i would rate a strip of freshly caught mullet as top of the tree for most bream spots and big live poddies for summer flathead. Dave
Flightmanager
I seem to do pretty well with the humble peeled prawn. Most species seem to like them , and I have caught good examples of several species with them . Ross
