aussiebasser
Not Wivenhoe or in behind the coast cos your got donks on the boat. Country looks wild enough to be out Kingaroy way ? Or even Leslie ? 26149 You're allowed to have outboards on your boat in Wivenhoe just not permitted to run them unless you are releasing fish. The first pic is Tulungra Cliffs right at the top of Wivenhoe, very rarely visited, and top water. This one is the water tower for Esk township. About 15km's from the ramp. aussiebasser
Gee the freeboard in that last shot would make it an exciting boat to fish from in the Northern Territory. 26167 That's Steve Morgan's boat. Yep pretty exciting!!!
aussiebasser
Just out of interest Dale - if that photo is 15k from the ramp - how do you get there without the main motor ?? 26214 When we (Somerset & WivenhoeFish Stocking Ass.) release Bass fingerlings, we have to spread them around a bit and we have permission from the Water Board to use our petrol engines for releases. The photo was taken as we were releasing 23,000 baby bass. Steve Morgan from the ABT kindly donated his services to assist on the day. This photo shows Steve with the net, and Gary Fitzgerald (President of SWFSA) releasing some of the fingerlings
aussiebasser
Ah - I suspected as much. Have you sorted the problems with comp approval that made you stop stocking ?? 26262 Hi Pedro, we didn't stop stocking as such. We decided to not put any Bass in Somerset this year. DPI&F are supposedly holding some meetings with interested parties to look at the commercial competition permit system. With the SIP system in Qld., we must spend the money on fingerlings. What wasn't spent on Bass will be put to good use on Saratoga and Mary River Cod, which will develop breeding populations in Somerset. 20,000 Golden Perch went into Somerset last week, and there are Silvers on their way.
