wildfish Posted February 1, 2008 Share Posted February 1, 2008 going out sunday just like to know what lures to troll for dollies! 3 - 4inch christmas tree and x rap! or tuna lures like zukers and mcgoo 10inch mixed colour with lumo? also would th latter attract marlin! dont want to spend money this week because of other commitments!!! Steve07 Posted February 1, 2008 Share Posted February 1, 2008 (edited) That sounds like a pretty good spread of lure's you have to put out for a dollie near the F.A.D. Also if your serious about getting a few,get out to the F.A.D. really early "if your the first boat there even better",cube up a few pillies,float out a couple of whole one's for bait & with a couple of small live yakka's as well & if there around you should get a few better size fish going after your baits. Don't forget to troll your lure's wide of the F.A.D. too,like even 200m away as the bigger fish will be sometimes hangin around here. 4inch xmas tree jet heads and 6 inch trolling feather's or zuker's have caught plenty of dollies on the troll for me,as do many other lure's on there day when the fish are thick & biting well.But you only get a couple this way before the fish get spooked,that's when you need to switch methods & use baits to get them. cheers mate steve Edited February 1, 2008 by nexus Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
