Hilux 99 2.7

Hi guys,

I know this is the boating area but I will be towing a boat with the car.

I am looking for a bit of info on the toyota hilux 2.7l 4 cyl 99 models. This is a sr5 dual cab.

Has anyone got one, are there any common faults with them?

I am looking at this rig to tow a light aluminium (600kg) boat, and have found one in my price range with 170k on the clock. It has been continually (and recently) serviced and is in good knick.

I thought that the 2.7 might be an economical ( or more econimical) regular driver than the V6, and I cant afford a good diesel.

Any one got any advice?

Thanks

Charlie

Hey Chuncho,

This is a overall great vehicle.

I have a 2OO1 MODEL

2.7 LITRE PETROL SR5 AND I love it.

I tow a fibreglass pongrass surf master with it and it tows well, yes it feels it abit going up a hill but other than that a great little ute.

If you are towing a aluminium vessel even better Charlie.

GO FOR IT.
