VA911
slept through the alarm this morning and ended up launching at 6:30. Slow start only peckers on fresh squid and not even a look at the yakkas. Caught a few nice squid to only have all but one of them destroyed by peckers. Change of tactics. Ended up at Spot XXX after trying from A to Z. The last squid was the saviour. I was going to keep it for the table as it was about 40cm but ended up in 3 nice kingsthat looked very very FAT and healthy and 2 BIG BUSTOFFS! one dusted me on the bottom and one that took me around structure after not being able to make more than 2 meters on it. it was BIG. Slow thumps... mind you the fish that ended in the boat came in without pulling any drag. I will be back. just a quick pick Edited April 14, 2008 by VA911

VA911
Nice session there VA911 Well done. Where were you getting busted? At the Hook, Leader or mainline? cheers inlanzi the one that got me on the bottom i could feel rub and broke just near the hook. 80lb fluro leader ended like swiss cheese. the one that got me on structure busted the braid 80lb again. I dont tie knots anymore. Just use crimps other than the leader to the mainline and of course the plat double. Steve, good luck with it mate! I was on the phone to the and said i was going to pack it up in half an hour, hung the phone up and had enough time to put it down and it started. Should have done that hours earlier. its always the way
