gazman Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 have been shown website called seabreeze.com and found to be very good and very accurate. go onto site and click on graphs and area where you live to find updated forecasts on wind, wave sizes in hourly intervals .it has been really accurate for me as far as wind and swell for fishing the rocks.

Check the BOM site as well especially the weekend boating forcasts and coastal and inshore waters forcasts. Coastguard are up to date and also get feedback from boats that are already offshore. By checking both sites you can get a clearer picture. Seabreeze is a data model that gets its data from BOM installations. I like seabreeze as it is very easy to absorb the info as it is graphical but I always confirm it with BOM and live readings as there is always errors in all the prediction models and some seem to consistantly under or over estimate windspeed and swell conditions. Never underestimate your own judgement seeing fromst come in and wind changes especially if offshore as it can save you a horror trip home just by leaving that little bit early. Pel
