for me fishing the cliffs is scarier than fishing on low ledges. i rather get washed in than fall over.

the amount of times i've slipped and tripped, cliff fishing is definitely not for me

I fish on the other side of the peninsular. I park the car at the end of

Sir Joseph Banks Drive and it's about a 20min walk up to the ledge.

I was using 24kg line and a 3m 100lb leader and a 13/0 Mustad tuna circle hook.

excellent effort mate, and a ggod job hauling the kingie 30m straight up the cliff...........still don't know how you can fish that high up, still have panic attacks from the time i was their with you

Hey Mako, I went for a walk out to the lighthouse late Saturday monrning and came across your rock ledge with blood on it. Was a bit suss as to where the blood came from before I read your story. I must have missed you by ~30 mins. Long walk in though and fishing from that high up would give me the willies especially leaning over to gaff and pull the fish up. Great catch by the way.
