streve
Hi all. I have finally spat the dummy after throwing another wheel bearing which in return stripped the stub axle thread and nut. All this just after the winch locking lever failed. I have had numerous problems with my boat trailer over the years so have decided its time to spend the hard earned dollars on a new trailer. I am looking for any suggestions on what i must be looking for and also if anyone has any tips on where to go. I have a 6m fibreglass boat. The trailer obviously needs to be twin axle and braked. I am not after a $500 buget piece of junk, but i dont have a 6 figure bank balance either. Any suggestions or recomendations would be most appreciated. Hi IWANNAJEWY Considered that but rust is also becoming an issue. The trailer is as old as the boat (about 30 years) Sent it away once to a trailer place at moorebank to have the trailer overhauled and what a balls-up. Charged me over $1000 to replace an axle, 2 hubs and 2 tyres. The trailer did the bearings within 6 months. Did ther other axle and hubs myself. Need to wipe the slate clean and start fresh with a new trailer. Cheers

Cheers G'day Pretend Fisho, A few years ago I bought a 5.8 metre Whittley which had been kept in dry storage and didn't have a trailer. I bought a cheaper brand of trailer and had nothing but trouble. In the end I got so frustrated I sold the trailer and went with the preferred Whittley cradle. PM me if you like, and I can give you some more info. Kenny

a boat
Hi, boat trailers fall very much under the saying "you get what you pay for". OK trailers for the size you are after start at about $3,800, good ones start at about $4,500 and great ones are about $5,800. PM or call me for the Raider price because we have trailers in all three catagories, Cheers, Huey.
