Bass Minnow Help

Im still having trouble working out bass minnow retrievals and that. I fish them with either a 1/11 th or 1/16th jig head with 5lb fluro leader 10lb smoke fireline but still cant get much usally tailor and flathead but no bream. Any help much appreciated. How to jig them how fast to work them Cheers

Hi CCF and welcome to Fishraider

It's hard to say what retrieve is the correct one for any lure as different retrieves work in a number of different situations.

The bass minnow, for example, can be retrieved in the way Pedro describes, (which is probably the most popular method and is a good starting point), but then I know a few very capable breamers who like a 'whip, whip, stop' style retrieve.

Either way will work, it's really a matter of fishing hard, casting heaps and working out what best works for you on any given day in the spots you're fishing.

There is some good advice there.

My retrieve is usually cast, let it sink pause for a couple of seconds the twitch the rod tip leave for a couple of seconds and repeat.

What areas of teh Central Coast are you fishing???
