Kruzenvax
Hi all, On Saturday I tried the downriging for the 1st time "for real" - e.g. out of Botany heads, with dead rigged garfish as a bait. On a positive side I had a 1st bite - e.g. suddenly the road banged straight and the line went out of tje clip. On the negative side the fish didn't hook up; there was only the head of the garfish left on the hook. But one thing got me confused: my trolling speed was 4kts. I have noticed that the wire - when I'm trolling - is not vertical (maybe 30-35 degrees) - e.g. the bomb still getting dragged back despite the weight. Is it normal or I need a heavier one? Or troll slower? The angle means that - if I release, say, 10m of wire, the bomb depth is far from 10m? What do you guys do? Thanks

Kruzenvax
I think it is 7 or 8 lbs.
Robbielites
If you can see the bomb on the sounder I would not worry to much, just use you screen to set the depth not the line counter Alternatively try slowing down first, if that does not fix it go a 10lb.
