Minnamurra Or St Georges Basin

G'Day Crew,

Quick question: For a day trip this Sunday 21st want to take the wife and kiddies for a fish. Which would be nicer to fish?

Want to take them to Hawkesbury, but the missus hates driving through the big city (we live in Picton).

I haven't fished either yet. We will be boat based (see avatar).

Hi Rob,

I live near Kiama, and can vouch for Minnamurra. Up the mouth end is beautiful and you can beach your boat on the beach side of river for bbq lunch etc.Awesome swimming.

Ive heard of some good reports of nice flatties caught on runout tide too.

Just watch up near the bridge at low tide it can get a bit shallow.

As for SGB ive never been there.

I haven't fished the Basin for a while but i love it

so much variation

love fishing the flats when the wind is blowing

nothing beats catching a Bream on a popper in 12 inches of water

Fish the Basin

Its fishing well at the moment

Try drifting through Erowal Bay Swan Bay or the western side of the two little islands

You can also pull up at Palm beach where there are toilets and a shop at the top of the hill for drinks and hot chips

The basin it is then. Can't wait been weeks since being in the boat or fishing.

You can also put the boat in at Sussex Inlet and then drift from where the river enters the basin.

That's where we will be for 2 weeks in January!
