Kruzenvax
Decided to give Port Hacking a go after a long break (was not fishing for 6-8 weeks, and last time I fished PH was perhaps in 2007) Was on the water at 7am (I know its late!) at Grays Point, proceeded upstream. On the way there realised I forgot to bring the landing net. Well, I knew that as soon as I don't have a net something should happen. Started fishing for bream and it went well - me and my son scored plenty of legal fish... all had to be "comfort lifted"! Our hands were spiked countless times. Around 9-30 I've got another bite and instantly about half of my 3lb line was stripped from the spool - a kingie it was. I was chacing that kingfish on a leccy for 30 minutes and with the help of my son got in onboard. It looks like we were in the middle of a school of rat kings; unfortunatelly the strongest line we had was 10lb so we managed to get 1 another king onboard and loose the biggest one that threw the lure at me. But we managed to get the photo of it. The one that got away... A lot of people returning back from fishing yesterday could see me stuck like an idiot in the middle of the channel with the rod bent and my son hanging almost overboard. At one stage I was about to ask passing fishing boat for a net, but didn't even have time to signal them. Started raining at 11am and the bite stopped so we went back. Guess it was not a bad day for PH. All fish were caught on SP... and released.

Kruzenvax
Caught 6 legal breams (there were a lot of smaller ones - one my son caught on the ramp, while I was parking the car). Landing a kingfish on 3 lb line is fun - for the 1st 5 minutes...
Hodgey
Kingy on 3lb line ... Great session mate. Breambos would have been fun, but that kingy was the icing on the cake. Top stuff! Cheers Hodgey

Kruzenvax
BTW: slightly off-topic. These pictures (inc. close-to-the-water ones) were taken with one of those new compact water/shock proof digital cameras. So now I have a prefect fisherman's camera. I just don't worry about it at all - threw it back in the corner of the casting deck when I don't need it. Used it close to the water, with slimy/wet hands no probs.
