Advice Needed For Downrigger Swivel Base

Hi ya Raiders,

Was hoping to pick your brains........

I have a Penn Fathom Master downrigger and want to make a swivel base for it.

The Penn bases are expensive and hard to get so if any raiders have made a swivel base or have any good ideas Id love to hear them

Ken, for starters, have a look at the Penn downrigger base and I think you would be able to easily modify the swivel and base of a small size chair pedestal swivel which are fairly cheap, make it neat and if necessary bolt a piece of alloy plate to it, nicely shaped with h/d roof plumber's snips or a metal cutting tool.... Better still Gary aka Brickman one of our sponsors could knock a base up for you to suit the swivel or make up whole the swivel and the base fitting for you in no time.
