hottyscotty Posted May 6, 2009 Share Posted May 6, 2009 Looking to getting 2 custom rods built. The blanks come in various rod actions, moderate, moderate fast and fast. The rods will be fitted with overhead reels. One with 30lb and the other 50lb. Which action would be best suited for live baiting? I will live bait either anchored or trolling and I would use it for bottom bashing too. No lure tossing involved. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
GregL Posted May 6, 2009 Share Posted May 6, 2009 Hi Scott I recon a moderate action would suit best, like a jig rod action. This way it will allow the bait to get down a bit before the fish turns and takes off allowing a better hook up. To fast and you will rip baits out of their mouths.
