Penguin
Hi everyone, Myself and four friends went out to the Botany wide FAD today in search of some Dollies. We arrived at the FAD around 10am and had it all to ourselves, there was not much happening at first but we continued trying. After about 30mins the Dollies arrived on mass, they were leaping out of the water everywhere. We were only catching undersize throwbacks, but they were still fun. After 30mins or so we saw some better looking specimens cruising around and we were quickly into them. We were getting double and triple hook ups on them and our net boy was rushed off his feet netting one after another. We stayed with the action for another hour and a half, we had lost count on how many we had caught, but it would have been well over the fifty mark with the largest going 87cm. We kept half a dozen each for a feed, but gave a few of these away to curious bystanders at the marina when we were taking a few photos. It was a fun day for all involved. cheers Penguin Edited May 7, 2009 by penguin
Ray R
WOW ! what a day, that would have tested the old arm muscles, how do you catch those things, metal slugs, plastics, dead pillies, either way would have been so much fun.. Congrats chaps.. Cheers.. Edited May 7, 2009 by Ray R
cat-as-trophy
What a terrific session you guys had, and in such a short time span, many a raider would give their right arm for such a session. The raider spirit is alive and well with you guys, keeping what you need for a feed and giving the rest away at the whalf. Can't wait to read about the next fishing trip Cheers Mrs Flightmanager

Caught them all while cubing with pillies. Good work, hope you left some for us Theres no worries there xtosea they were in plague proportions out there. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Looks like dolly for the next few weeks for you guys No way OUTFISHER, I only eat fresh fish not frozen. By the time we gave some away at the marina, and after my neighbours in the old peoples home next door were done with me, I ended up with 3 dollies in my fridge. We are having two for lunch and dinner today, and the 87cm speciman baked in the oven tomorrow, cant wait Edited May 7, 2009 by penguin

Dreamtime
Memorable session by the looks of those great specimens. Always fun to be able to catch multitudes of good fighting fish - not to mention their eating quality. I would not have been able to resist throwing a lure or two - with that action on hand. Well done guys - great effort Cheers Mariner
