jonno86
Hi guys, What's the best tool pliers to use to open the eye on the hooks? Regards, Jonno
Davemmm
The best way I have found is to buy the hooks that have the eyes still open. Plenty of hooks (cheap and expensive) simply split when I have tried to open them enough to gang them. Dave
Guest
SHARP PAIR OF SIDE CUTTERS AND A STRONG PAIR OF PLIERS. When you open the eye for ganging purposes just pinch the join with the side cutters and the eye will open up enough for you to insert the other hook and then use the pliers to close the join again. Mustard 4200 series hooks are ideal for ganging IMHO Cheers Stewy

GUDude
Jonno, There are big stainless fishing pliers that have a hook eye opener, basically a conical spike that spreads the eye as you close the pliers on them, mine has 3 different sizes. Also handy for pulling the hooks from fish with sharp teeth or if you dont want a treble in you finger when the fish is still a bit green.
