Leatherjacket

Caught this leatherjacket today at Forster. Any idea on what type of leatherjacket? Not knowing much about leatherjacket, is this one edible?

I used to catch heaps of these in the harbour as a kid Chopper.

We called them chinaman l/js'. It was these & the fan bellies that were most common.

I've also heard of them being called six spine l/j.

Top eating as well. Beautiful sweet flesh. When cooked take all the flesh off one side, pull the spine & fins out, & start on the other side.

They are a great winter option in the bays & harbours as a fun day out with the kids & a nice feed at the end of it.

Thanks guys. Heaps of them under the jetty at Forster. They caught attacking my gulps as soon as they hit the water. Pull the hook in, not much left of the gulp.
