Boat Measurement

Hi all, I was doing the sports crossword in the daily telegraph y'day and 1 of the questions, I can't remember the exact wording but basicly:

"measurement of the hull from waterline to lowest part of the keel"

I'm sure someone here will be able to enlighten me.

Don't know but I'm pretty sure it ended with a T and had about 6 or 7 letters from memory.
