RichieR
http://www.smh.com.au/environment/big-fish...90916-frq5.html The last sentence of this article got me a little worried .. A project supported by the Department of Primary Industries that attempts to trace shark movements has detected bull sharks travelling up the Georges River as far as Liverpool. In Summer - we water ski in the Georges .. are Bull Sharks scared of boats by any chance ?

forliano
Yeah mate... Sharks all through the Georges... Do plenty of night and arvo missions for them all the way along... Using big game reels and have had line absolutely smoke off before busting off... Cheers Ben
fisherman1994
well mate i cant say that im all too suprised, those bull sharks can survive anywhere, so theres no reason for the Georges to be any exception. JB
Young Gun
Wow.. Bull sharks are very versatile creatures. Ive heard of them coming up river but this just proves it. Cheers YG
evilborris
Bull sharks will almost handle freshwater from what the locals say,and there are reports from back when James Squire had his original brewery where the Halvorsen Boatshed stands today east of the Ryde Bridge.I have seen one about 4 or4.5m long in brays bay,(Across river from shed) and that bay is only about 2.5m deep at deepest point. They usually dont like boats, but I remember back in about 1983/4 a guy had his waveski bitten in half at Cabarita, leaving him hanging onto the port /reef marker behind the restaurant. To bad whoever did the deed didnt clean up after themselves.
zephi
well maybe that will lower the number of water skiiers in the Georges... It's quite interesting to hear about these shark cases in Georges, how they manage to survive etc.
