Fishing In The Wind - Tips

Hi guys,

I like a land based fish sometimes but how should i fish when its extra windy?

Should i just not bother trying to get the massive wind belly out of my line and just hope a decent fish takes off the the bait?

If thats the strategy i guess its best to just use a circle hook and pray? No real point looking at the rod since you wont be able to detect any bites

I suppose try to find somewhere that is sheltered, or if you cant keep the tip of the rod low, to avoid line bow. Gees that even rhymes.

Like moonset said try to get out of the wind.Only thing I can add is to point the rod tip at the water and hold the line bettween your fingers.Then when you feel a bite just let the fish run with it.Before closeing the bailarm and strikeing. Good luck and let me know how you went

or try to use the wind to your advantage

find a location when you are casting with the wind resulting in longer casts

longer casts = more ground covered
