hooklineandsinker Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 i caught this yesterday while fishing balmain i called it for a dusky due to it having a rounded nose area not flat like im used to seeing its was just undersize for a dusky so i let it go but legal if it was a sand flattie after looking online im not so sure
0 cut_loose Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 (edited) The way to tell normally has something to do with spots on the tail.. Maybe someone has photos ? TBH i dont like Sand Flathead being 33cm while Dusky has to be 36cm i think ALL flathead should be 36cm to be legal IMO would save alot of cusfusion and a 33cm Flathead isnt very big neither Edited December 29, 2009 by cut_loose
0 Ray R Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 G'day , that is a Dusky Flathead, you will know a sand flattie from the lighter colour and slighty smaller head.
