locodave
There seems to be a lot of those big jelly fish in the Hawkesburry River, what type are they? Poisoneous?
Elvis
Non poisonous as far asI am aware. It's only Irrikunjandi (s/p?) and Box Jellys that are truly poisonous. The ones in the Hawkesbury are everywhere, i saw some 10mins East of Windsor a few days ago!
Day's Fishin
Their not poisonous & nor do they sting. However theres always a chance that there is a couple of bad species floating around with them so just don't touch them. Regards Jeff

GregL
There seems to be a lot of those big jelly fish in the Hawkesburry River, what type are they? Poisoneous? The clear flat ones with 3 dots that look like bowling ball holes are ok but the brown mushroom type with legs do sting. The tops are ok but the legs are the stingy bits. Elvis
I didn't see any on Sunday morning. Maybe the rain pushed them all back down the river
Gremlin
Was fishing at Mooney Mooney bridge this morning and as I was fishing off the little rock beach near the car park I got stung by one of them, its just a little burning tingly weird sensation, washed it off with some bottled water I had and wiped it off with a towel and all was good in a few minutes I did get a picture of a few of them, including one that was HUGE easily 40cm in diameter Edited January 10, 2010 by Gremlin
