choteo
Hi All, I have a 115hp 2 stroke Johnson 2004. For some strange reason my rectifier blows every approx 100 hours. I’m up to my third rectifier at $450 a pop!!! Everyone tell me to check my battery connections, and from what I can see my dual battery system is all good / secured… I can not fault any other electronics… Has anyone experienced or have a similar issue? Can anyone offer any advice?? Or I’m I just unlucky… Thanx. Rgs, Choteo.
johnno
Do you charge your battery ever? If so do you remove your terminals or do you leave them connected the only thing i can think of if you leave the terminals you may be getting charge into the motor side and it may be damaging it. thats the only thing i can come up with cheers
Robbielites
Or I’m I just unlucky… Thanx Unlucky? On the rectifier side of things.... I doubt it. Who is selling you and installing these rectifiers at $450 a pop? Does he need a business partner
a boat
Hi, do you have wing nuts on the battery terminals? Cheers, Huey.
choteo
Hi All. Thanx for the replies. I've never had to charge batteries as they maintain charge via use. I have spring washes with nylon nuts on battery terminals…. $450 is the RRP for the rectifier unit…
a boat
Hi, we have replaced one of those in the last 5 years so not a common problem and I guess I would find someone else if they keep putting on them becuase they are not finding the root cause of the failures. Cheers, Huey.
