I Need Rod Guides Replaced On Several Rods & A Couple Of Reels Repaired

Hi Raiders I usually have my rods repaired and my reels serviced etc when I go away to the Far North Coast which I have been doing every now and then.

Does anyone know a good repairer to take a a few rods to in the South Western suburbs ? I'm out in the Campbelltown area.

I also need to find a chap who specialise in reel repairs. I have a larger Pflueger spinning reel that has a problem with the anti backlash staying off all the time and a smaller reel that has a bail that wont click back automatically when you wind the handle.. Also I think a couple of reels might need the drag looked at and might need servicing as well....I have heard mention of a chap around the Punchbowl or the Roselands area who's very good with reel repairs... Does anyone know of this chap or someone else that specialises in reel repairs ??

As far as my rods go, I need tip guides replaced and in some cases the lower guides have worked loose in the bindings, so I guess I need to find a rod maker or a rod repairer who does a good job in binding rod guides...

Thanks Raiders I would really appreciate your help in this area

By the way, it would be more appropriate to only provide the name of the area and provide a few details in reply so that I can follow it up with you later rather than giving out the name of any particular person/s, that would be against the rules of our site anyway.

Cheers

I have used a bloke in a shop in St Marys (On Glossop Street) a few times now and is a wealth of knowledge.

Let me know if you need the name of the plcae.

Byron,

I just had one of my rods fixed from my local guy in Blacktown only cost me $10 but I had to wait 2 weeks to get it done no complaints with the job looks like nothing happened to the rod! not too sure if they do reels also but id say they do.

Ill pm you the Details and see how you go.

Regards,

Nathan

Hi Jewgaffer

Repairing guides is easy peasey So you should have a go at doing it yourself. Rod tips are particularly easy because you just take the old guide off and glue on a another. The guide lower on the rod can be easily rebound after the old binding has been removed. Add a bit of clear coat and you're done.

It really is easy. Google guide replacement and you'll see how easy it really is.
