Maianbar - Pumping Nippers

Raii

Recommended Posts

I know people recommend to pump nippers at the lowest tide, but I was wondering if the area is still accessible to be pumped around the midst of the rising tide ? As I'm thinking of trying it out tomorrow

Thanks, Ray.

If you are in a boat and (as double pluggers has said) you dont mind getting wet then the tide doesnt matter too much. The western bank can be pumped almost to the top of most tides provided you use a sieve. I have an Alvey sieve that is about two foot wide and I have taped foam around it so it floats.

Obviously it is harder to get down at high tide and at a big high tide it is impossible.

The best time is about half tide on a run up. This is the same if you drive to the flats or go to the west flats in a boat.

Bear in mind that the tide at Miainbar is behind the tide chart. the actual difference varies depending on run in or run out and the size of the tide.
