  1. Okay, was planning on heading there on the weekend to pump some nippers on the low, I have only ever seen it on the low so I was curious as to whether we'll be wading to head back to the street later when the tide rises. Thanks for the info.
  2. Hi, I've taken a walk down at Mansion Bay (End of Gray's Point Road) during low tide, I am just curious as to how high the water gets on those flats during the high tide? Is there still a dry path from the flats to the walkway back up to the street? Or will water end up covering the path back up? Thanks,
  3. Good work with the whiting. Are there many accessible flats to target whiting in the Hacking ? Thanks.
  4. I was out on Thursday, only managed 2 legal bream on the bottom on blades. Not much else, plenty of jellyfish floating around everywhere
  5. Hi, are the constructions at Gymea Baths complete now? Thanks
  6. If I remember, most squid live on average 1-2 years so theres nothing wrong with taking the larger ones
  7. And who may this person be
  8. Hahaha, I assumed there wasnt any ramp at Gymea. Btw, I'm the owner of the video
  9. Great day out, I was out on the 7th with not much action around Wallys wharf Is there a boat ramp at gymea? Is it possible to launch a kayak there? Thanks.
  10. I also tried for no luck today, was casting 100mm squidgy flickbaits around 830 (slack tide)
  11. I've read of people pumping nippers at Great Turriell Bay, I was wondering if its possible to take a yak down there to the waters edge? Or is it a difficult track down to the water? Thanks, Ray.
  12. Squid are plentiful there, just not huge sizes

    Ecogear Vx35

Hey guys, I just recently got an Ecogear VX35 in the 435 color, I was wondering how you go about 'using' this lure, I've only used SPs, are the techniques similar? Thanks.
  14. Yeah, it was predicted to be around 5 knots today, but it was quite strong (I live right next to picnic point) So I hope the forecast is correct
  15. Hope the wind drops, currently quite strong winds
  16. Thanks for the replies guys, With the worms, I've only got 6' sizes, could I just cut them into 1/3rds and use them like that ? What hook size would you recommend? I'm fishing Port Hacking off the wharves and I have found with burley, most of the Trevs usually sit just below us, so would dropping it down and jigging it up and down work, or should I cast out and retrieve in? thanks
  17. I've caught the occasional Trev on 2" gulp grubs, I was wondering what other plastics people recommend to target them? Thanks!
  18. Very nice fish, hope I can make it along on sunday, I have never fished around that section of the harbour, so Stewy will be PMing the location to the attendees?
  19. The tailor are starting to build up around the Hacking I was wondering if the squid getting caught were Arrows or Green eyed calamaris?
  20. Thanks Hodgey, I think I am starting to get the hang of things haha. Ill probably be coming down to the Soft plastics social seeing as I live only around 5 minutes from the area, provided I complete my studies as I have an exam the day after
  21. Last week, I was down at the Hacking at a local wharf and landed my first ever King and even better, it was my first legal and first one on SPs. 5" Nuclear Chicken Jerk shad on a 1/0 3gm jighead. Was a great fight, however they were not around again this week. He measured around 68-69.
  22. Well, I'm looking more towards the Symetre atm But theres two things, theres an RJ and a FJ model, could someone clarify what the differences are? Which is the 'better' one?
  23. I'm actually considering either the Exceler or Symetre (price wise) And I forgot to mention, I will mainly be using livebaits and larger plastics. So thats a +1 for the symetre
  24. Hi, I'm looking at a few reels atm, not sure which one would perform 'better', I am landbased and I will be using this as a rod for targetting the larger species like Kings and Jews landbased. If people could possibly give some reviews, that'd be great. I'd rather stick to the ones mentioned below. Ive got in mind (4000 size): Daiwa Tierra Daiwa Exceler Daiwa Advantage Shimano Saros Shimano Symetre Thanks.
  25. We shall try for some bream on SPs next time, I could only land a 28cm trev earlier before you arrived
