GregL
Hi Raiders Some of you might know but I bought a unit in November last year and have started on a renovation before I move in. I have ordered the new kitchen and in the process of getting the bathrooms drawn up as well. My question is, do I need to get body corp approval to do work inside my unit that doesn't concern any common property and no structual walls? I do understand I need it to go to 3 phase electrical for instantanious electrical hot water but to pull up tiles and removal of kitchen? snag
Greg spoke to a few friend in the area of property management and they told me if your the owner which you are you do not need strata to give you the go ahead, you can do the work. But they did say a letter or fax to the strata company would be good just to let them know and if other say something reg noise they can tell other tenants what the go is. Only with extenal work you need strata to approve, ie split system's foxtel ect ect.
tan the fisherman
Hi Greg, You dont need to have strata approval for these works unless you are installing an externally vented rangehood as this would involve drilling through an external wall of your property.
