Help With Furuno Sounder

G'DAY RAIDERS, JUST INSTALLED A FURUNO FCV 585 SOUNDER ON MY VESSELL WITH A 1KW TRANNY, IF ANYONE OUT THERE READING THIS HAS USED ONE OR THE 620 I NEED A BIT OF HELP.

FIRST HOW TO I GET RID OF THE SURFACE CLUTTER ?

AND 2 AT HIGH SPEEDS I LOSE THE BOTTOM ON MY SOUNDER UNTIL THE BOAT SLOWS DOWN AGAIN.

ANY HELP WOULD BE GOOD CHEERS....

ive got the 620 you will have to try another spot for your transducer so the you can read the bottom mine reads at full speed.Check out www.fishnet.com.au become a member and go to the marine electronics forum heaps of info on there.they are an awesome sounder.

Turn down or up the gain till you have some clutter on the screen. Then got to colour erase and run the percentage up until weak echo's disappear. I generally run mine at 25 to 30%. At different depths you should start the process from scratch but I haven't found that it makes too much difference.
