Gettn Jiggy With Sydney Kings

Hi Raiders, went offshore today with Simon (framedtrash) and managed a nice king and thumpy Bonito.

The King went 80. 6.5KG

The current was raging and we really struggled to get the jigs to the bottom. Bit sloppy out there too. There was surface action everywhere and a heap of bonnies.

Check out Simon on his new Jig outfit! http://www.billyd.com.au/simonfish

I couldnt help my self and had to get a pic with it. :biggrin2:

Was great having you onboard Oscar Blue Simon, we will do it again one day!

Nice effort boys,

Simon can you tell us a bit about your jigging outfit? Ie specs and costs.

I have only ever jigged with spin outfits so would you say your reel is just as easy to get use to?

Cheers

Gorms.

its a jigging master powerspell 150gm rod and a jigging master pe3 reel with 300mtrs of pe4 saltiga boat braid

total outfit costs around the $1000 mark depending where u get it

this was my first time jigging with a overhead all my other jig outfits are spin didnt take too long to get use to it

we didnt have any issues with jackets my first drop i caught a jacket but thats the only one i saw

didnt loose any jigs (well i did drop one over board by accident)

Hey mate,

Well done on finding a break in the weather to head out and geting stuck into a healthy fish! 6.5kg for an 80cm king is very fat.

How many kingies did you end up with and were the jackets pestering you?

Andrew

It was a fat fish indeed, the Bonito was fat also, he was full of Pilchards!

Good effort finding the kingfish and then jigging them up Billy  .. Simon really has a good grasp on the best gear to use and is very knowledgable as to the theory part of it all and it won't be too long before he's out there putting it all together and showing others how to locate and catch decent size fish too ...

Cheers
