Reel To Suit Abu Ultra Cast Pro

hey guys once again seeking advice from more experienced raiders as im wanting to add to my tackle collection. i currently have a 8ft abu garcia ultra cast pro fitted with a banax sx 5000 which i use for spinning off the rocks. however the reel gets too heavy and im looking for a reel to replace. apprecite any suggestions .my price range is upto250.and would also like advice on braided line to use, thanks

The Abu Soron SX & STX are a good reel and would probably suit that rod, the Pflueger Supreme MG is also another nice reel.

Hey mate, the specs are : 8'0" (243cm) - 2 piece ultra cast spin medium action 8-10kgs

and im chasing salmon, bonnies, kings, and anything else thats decent size and will gimme a good run

I'd get a Shimano 4000 series reel and spool it up with a 300yd spool of Finns PRT 30lb with about 100m of 30lb mono backing just to fill the spool.

A good reel is a Symetre for your budget.

Don't think you could get better value than a Soron STX... either the 40 or the 60 (have a look at both and go with the size you're most comfortable with). Under your budget but as good as most reels double the price.

the 4000 only holds 146mtrs of 5kg

they are great reels and for there price there a great buy
