  2. Thanks for the kind replies everone- correct the photo is west of the harbour bridge! Hopefully soon I can get out again have got the itch already. Hope everyone had a merry xmas and a safe and prosperous NY Tight lines Anthony
  3. Very nice indeed- a brace of jew both beaut fish Congrats mate Tight lines Anthony
  4. I blew her over in a few minutes on 50lb braid and 80lb leader, but the problem is keeping these ones away from structure. Ol mate drove the fish out from under cover into open water where I had a chance else I wo0uld have gotten dusted big time! ... I can assure you there are bigger ones around some mates have been getting smoked on 80/100lb in harbour Fish was very green on the surface took 4 or 5 net shots to get all that size in head first to the net What a rush - cannot wait to go brain more soon Tight lines Anthony
  5. Went out to the harbour on a mates boat downrigging live squid. Squid were hard to find but we got a couple, in between we found some suface action nailed a nice bonnie for jew bait for tonight. Fish were picky with lures but saw a bloke using fly hooked up to some gooduns Late in the session pulled this 90+cm model Kingie on a live calamari New PB stoked all round Anthony
  6. I was invited to go fishing for Kingies today so I arrived to the ramp earlier than expected and started pacing the carpark waiting for my ride to arrive. Charlie dropped our mate Johnny off @ a nearby wharf and out we set to chase some candy to tempt the bigger boys out to play. As luck was clearly not on our side we baoted 3 inkers in just under 2 hours- some of the charter lads were doing it hard aswell. After sounding out one of the markers we decided to drop the rigger down and have a pass- lots of bites then WHAMMO! Onto a fish straight away, and on 24kg gear it was in the live well in a flash still very green lol Measuered 70cm and I was stoked Another pass saw the dreaded LJ's move in and squid didnt last long Hmmm... decision... 1 bait... We tried to catch some more inkers but after 30mins we still had only 1 in the tank- so off the next marker while flicking metals @ the passing bait balls and frnzied Bonito and Taylor We had a few hookups but nothing boated.. Finally arrived @ the final spot to drop squid and well it got hit straight away, but the hooks didnt set... then it come back for a 2nd run and it got busted off before we even had the rod out of the holder... sh1t happens So we continue to chase the bonito and taylor schools around for the next hour- we boated 7 nice choppers to 40cm and a single bonito- they were pretty flighty and hard to keep track of once they went back down, but we found a good patch of fish and they didnt get too spooked and was a large school Fantastic way to finish the session just after lunch
  7. Good score bro for ya first... mmm... tasty...
  8. OMG! Thats HUGE!... what a beast... with some soapies awesome night out Tight lines Anthony
  9. Great score GOOS! Nice soapie and breambo there... Mmmm.... tasty...
  10. I personally wouldnt touch anything from KPW or Meadowbank and i think they are both over rated spots- I fished KPW for a year and a half when I lived in Ermington never saw anything bigger than 45/50cm soapies landed- great spot for yakkas though (as is any ferry wharf these days)... you just gotta get in early to get the prime spot and tide to reap rewards Anthony
  11. Deep fried yakkas are AWESOME!... Slimeys are good on the BBQ provided they are fresh, if you freeze them the flesh goes all soggy. I also LURVE chopper taylor between 35 and 45cm they are def one of my favourites- I simply cannot bring myself to use one for bait when they are tasty as... baked, bbq, fried, smoked dont matter just have a few handy Not into pilchards/whitebait personally but I dont mind a feed of decent Bully Mullet... We used to get them when I was a kid during spawning season on the nth coast- whatever didnt get used for bait was eaten.
  12. Nice work Ian, always awesome when the kids grin from ear-to-ear when a nice fish is caught! Keep em comin mate Anthony
  13. Good haul wacko- tasty Red's and that Bluey will go down a treat Well done again lads Tight lines Anthony

  16. another nice hawkesbury feed prawn star- well done mate! Anthony
  17. Thanks guys, means a lot for me to be able to share such a monumental occasion with a few great mates and bag a monster that took 100% courage from the angler. I know for sure Ron was amped when the gaff was finally sunk and we all hauled her up... astounding is all I can say... I hope to get out again in next few weeks (lucky fathers day pressie) and blood my new bent butt 24kg on a fin myself- I got the itch now time to stratch lol Tight lines Anthony
  18. Yeah, these are the ones my mate took, mine are still on my phone... ENJOY! Note- the first one is the broken TLD which Ed used to nail the fish 2nd is one of Ed with his BFT 3rd is the weigh in @ SGFC
  19. Nice YFT there John- was that you we saw last night when we weighed the SBT with Ivan @ SGFC? Ivan is a mad skipper and wont ever give up- a full credit to you guys though for getting into some nice fish Anthony
  20. 95.8kg bluefin caught into last night odd Sydney- WOO-HOO!!!! I was there to watch it all unfold... I feel a gamefishing addiction coming on strong!

  21. I had the pleasure of going on a tuna charter yesterday aboard with my mates Dave, Steve, Allan and Ed. We jigged the 12 for donuts and we headed wide past Browns and off to Heatons Trolling all the way for nothing we decided to cube @ 2:00pm we decided to head back to 1000fa and cubed again. Within 30mins we had a hookup, and 5 after that we had a double. The 2nd fish got busted off clean and we all sank deep into the throes of disappointment as Steve watched his PB head to the depths... total heartbreak and we all felt it on board Ed will still going and after an hour the handle on the TLD50 with 24kg snapped- we thought doom was inevitable but Ed soldiered on into the night - handlining and winching under immense pressure. Ivan (skipper) drove like a champion and after seeing backing 3 times we saw first colour in the pitch black. Down she went again for another scorching run and the battle continued again down deep... 2nd time we got her beside the boat and under the boat she went- we all gasped and waited for the ping of the line- but again Ivan saved the day with the most amazing driving ever. She was tiring and 3rd time after 3hrs and 20mins we had her boat side- do or die time I said to Ron who had a gaff in hand, Dave had the 2nd and I had the last ready in hand and white knuckled in anticipation- Rob sank the first gaff, followed by Dave then Myself on the 3rd... 10mins it took to get the beast into the boat and onto the deck Headed back to SGFC to weight her (we were thinking anything from 80-130kg) but the scales told the story- a 95.8kg Bluefin HUGE effort and resiliance won the day- a real team effort by all who gave words of encouragement, brought water to the angler, watched every inch come with pain and anguish... Such an amazing day one I'll never forget in my life- and I wasnt the angler but to be there and be part was a real rush and one I hope to relive again and again. Now I have the addiction I think its time for another upgrade or 3... I'll keep going back even though mu mojo was almost @ an all time low after recent spates of bad luck and fishless nights and heartbreak with my boat after Burrinjuck Def the best day I have ever had Arrived home 2am after cleaning, gutting and filleting a monster fish worthy of a lifetimes of any other species... We all walked away with between 10 and 15kg of fresh Bluefin SSSSSOOOOOOO AMAZING!!!! Tight lines all Anthony
  22. Holy Hell- a few of them Mowies are real stonkers Great bag mate Anthony
  23. Nice Mowies and Flatties prawn star- top days fishing. Tight lines Anthony
