dhype
Hey Raiders Hit the water this morning with my mate Tom expecting flat conditions but the water was very sloppy so we had to hide behind Molli Point. Started off with a little trolling and scored this after a few minutes.. Found the rest of the school of bonito jumping about but could not get them to take anything! We cast all sorts of stuff at them but nothing connected.... the same thing happened for the rest of the day. Very annoying.. Got feed up with the bonnies so we went to find some larger fish... first cast with the large plastic, two twitches and BANG! I'm on.. grab the net! To my surprise up comes a 67cm jewfish!! . My PB Jewfish on SP ... very happy ! Tried to get a kingie or two afterwards but only saw them follow the lure to the surface but no hits unlike yesterday....(we later saw a boat catch a number of rats with squid) With very little fish in the esky we decided to hit the flatties across the bay and did very well... Caught plenty with a few keepers amongst them all At the end of the day i smashed my mate like 10 flatties to his 1 or 2 keepers! hahaha It was a very tough day out but still managed a few.. still great to be out on the water Cya Trung / DHYPE Edited December 26, 2010 by dhype

hornets
Top bag of fish there. If the Bonnies wont take casting lures try trolling minnows around them as i find they like them a bit faster. Usually I cant stop them getting on when I troll for them .
Ray R
Hey that was a top session, may have started slow but it ended up really good with a feed of fish, and also might add that a friend of mine that went to the fish markets last week saw flattie fillets for nearly $40 a kg, so you got yourself a few bucks worth of fish there.. Congrats Edited December 26, 2010 by Ray R

Jewdreamer
Hey Trung, well done buddy, It certainly was miserable out there! we were trying to tempt that same school of bonnies .... tried just about every metal in the tackle box for no takers, got one trolling from the oil wharf to molly just before it got really miserable and we wimped out! Good work - keep it up...I need the inspiration. cheers Chris
dhype
after our trip in January ,, we will have tp meet up and you can show me how to fish the bay.. I never have any luck there I can't wait for the marlin/tuna trip!! Thanks again for organising it! Not catching any fish in the bay?? Ditch all your bait and grab some lures! Your catch rate will be a lot higher with quality fish rather than small pinky snapper you get with bait! Cheer Trung
