Dorado 2
Yes it can be dangerous as the swell can sweep over the rocks best to watch the wave action for a good 20 minutes so that you know what to expect. I always use to wear cleets over there gives you a good grip if the swell is working in your direction. The best side would be the right hand side just off the carpark. Well in the old days you could catch anything even blue fin tuna few years back they even caught dollies there!! but your main catch would be tailor bonito kingfish and bream. Actually that is one thing I never took much notice (Tides) when I use to go there but I am more inclined to fish the runnout can be safer as well. I have read many of Ray R's entries he goes there he might be more informative as I haven't fished there for years Cheers Edited January 13, 2011 by Dorado
meathead
All your questions have already been answered well. Avoca is a great place to fish. I used to fish there years ago but can't stomach it anymore over summer. I've seen far too many fish needlessly taken and far too much rubbish left behind. Please only take what you know you will use and take your rubbish with you.

I gave up at 9am due to the lack of manners shown by some poeple and inabilaty of some people to cast in a straight line....The problem with Australia is that the coastline is just too small and everyone wanted to fish were I was. G'day buddy, mate I have been watching this post and so far all the advice given has been 100% correct. The rocks can be so lame at times almost pond like, but in an instant it can turn on you and bite. Heed the Raiders replies I can not add to them, all aspects covered..
