Spearer1 Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Can anyone recommend a 30lb braid that doesn't tangle easily during casting in wind? I have had to cut tangles out of my current spool to the point where I am now back to the mono backing after a big cast. Are there any braids more resistant to tangles than others? I need to respool my 4500 spin reel. Thanks for your advice.
bharris Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Hi mate, its more likly that that the braid was put on incorretly or your winding loose line onto your spool during the start of the retreve. Try fins haven't had a problem since changing to it.
Spearer1 Posted February 12, 2011 Author Posted February 12, 2011 Yeah, could be a loose line issue where I have taken up slack with minimal resistance. The resulting tangles are severe! I saw that Finn do a anti tangle braid. Thanks for the recommendation.
Catchin Jack Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Some reels not suited for braid can also cause this problem.

Whats you use? C. Use- general purpose medium weight. bottom bashing reef, trolling, cast & retrieve, jigging. For chasing snapper, Jew, kings, dollies. Casting from boat at structure etc. I have a 2000 spinner for lighter applications.
