After being a long time fan of the forums thought i should contribute to the effort
Today I fished my usual sydney eastern suburbs rock ledge and had caught three nice luderick before pulling in this guy. I caught him on a bait jig baited with bread (which incidently i find a dynamite way of getting onto nice blackfish when floated down unweighted). At first I thought it was a kind of wrasse, but its body tapered before the tail - unlike any wrasse I have seen. It measured around 20cm and put up a good show for itself once hooked. Had bright yellow eyes and a powerful tail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
