Get The Net Posted April 7, 2011 Share Posted April 7, 2011 Hi All, I have a old 4500 baitrunner that I have had stored away for some year now, I have now been reading about the Jewie in George River and I was wondering if this reel would be still good enough to use. Jewhunter Posted April 7, 2011 Share Posted April 7, 2011 That reel will do you for both the boat & the shore. You will need 2 rods though. One about 6-7ft rated 6-10kg for the boat & 10-12ft rated 4-8kg for landbased. Load your reel with 20-30lb braid & it will serve you well as an allrounder. Get The Net Posted April 7, 2011 Author Share Posted April 7, 2011 Thank you very much Grant,I seen a 7FT Penn International 6-10kg rod on the weekend for $25 mark down $49 that seem a bit cheap for a good rod to me.
