New control cable

Hi raiders,

I recently bought my first boat with a 28HP Suzuki outboard, I think its a early 80's model. I need a new control cable for the forward/reverse as the inside has perished.

I went to a boat shop and they said that they don't carry these types of cables and that i should get it directly from Suzuki, but i cant find there spare parts centre??

I have included pictures of the two ends of the cable, where can i get a new cable?

Cheers mate, just found one online, it looks like a CC179 cable. Just gotta find one in Sydney otherwise will order one from internet. Will give Huey a call tomorrow.

Have you tried Bias boating at all?they have a lot of cables which may suit.even try outboard wreckers at Arizona on central coast. just check the ends will suit your control box.

Bias said they could order one in, went to my local boat mechanic and ordered one in, should be in today.
