Skippers: Avoid Darling Harbour South on Sunday

NSW Maritime advises skippers an exclusion zone will be in place in part of Darling Harbour South for the safe staging of Navy Day celebrations on Sunday.

NSW Maritime Chief Executive Steve Dunn said the exclusion zone would apply between 10.45am and 11.55am, and between 2pm and 3pm.

“For the safety of participants and the public, NSW Maritime has granted an aquatic licence to the Australian National Maritime Museum on the navigable waters of Darling Harbour South during these times on Sunday,” Mr Dunn said.

“The area for skippers – including commercial operators - to avoid during these times will be the waters bounded by a line drawn between the Australian National Maritime Museum North Arm to King St Wharf Number 8 and the Pyrmont Bridge.”

This area will be marked by buoys and monitored by control vessels.

Helicopter displays will take place in the area above Darling Harbour South to mark Navy Day, with celebrations set to begin at 9.30am and continue until 5pm.

Other activities planned for the day include diver drops and winches, clearance diver tank displays, flight simulation, flag signal displays and performances by the RAN band.
