PRED-ATOR
Hey Raiders, Had the worst weekend of my life. Not only did my favourite bream stick snap in half, i lost my boat keys. How do i get them replaced? I rang my boat maker and they said try the engine company. Basically its a mercury 2 stroke 75 hp outboard. What do i need to do to get it replaced? Thanks Raiders
Rafferty.Rules
Should be a key number written down in the book/manual when you bought the boat / motor. Ring the Merc dealer and quote the number and they'll get it in for you. Not that it helps you now but I always cable tie a spare under the dash. cheap charlie
Badluck buddy... I think Huett Marine is a merc dealer? Given the fishraider relationship, they may be more helpful to sort a key???

tuffy
Pred -ator, I believe there is a number stamped on the back of the ignition switch and if you give that number to any Merc dealer they will be able to issue a replacement key for you. Let us all know. Cheers, Tuffy.

Kiwi
In the mean time if you want to go out but do not have a key. Tap out pin or unscrew the cover over where the key goes in. Take off cover and use a scrrew driver to turn the ignition switch.I had to do this a few years ago when I lost my keys miles from anywhere.
