REEF MAGIC CHARTERS Posted August 3, 2011 Share Posted August 3, 2011 Marty and two lifetime friends fished with us today. The day started quietly with us getting a good load of live bait then off to the 12 mile where we managed only 1 kingie to 77cm. We started the cube trail about 2.50pm things looked a little slow, that all changed about 4.00pm when a patch of YF showing over 60 fathom deep hit us. They took every thing but the boat. Both live baits went off the cube baits went and also the two jigs. The surface live bait snapped off, I was on the deep livie and was cut off by a braid knife. The cube fish suffered the same fate. That left the to jig lines,we got one about 30kg had the other on for 40mins then lost it when braid frayed by hitting the boat parted in the top guide. We saw this fish it was about 40kg. The fish stayed around us for about 10-12 mins and then moved on. There were some big fish at the boat taking cubes 50kg plus a fantastic experience for the boys.
