Bashir
The garmin range are hard to beat. I have the GPS 76 and its great, I use it all the time, on the boat and I've also used it a fair bit on land - it comes in handy when we get lost riding motorbikes out at Oberon. granpop
Look at Garmin, Magellan and Lowrance. www.gpsoz.com.au have both the Garmin and Magellan range and will be at the show at the end of the month. Biasboating have the Lowrance range. All will interface with a laptop (if needed), and the 'new' ones are pretty much all similar in operation. I have been watching ebay and any good one is going for new price or greater!!
gw77
Thanks for that. I do like the Garmin GPSmap 60CS. Would you know where would be the cheapest place in Sydney by any chance? So far the cheapest I have found is $779. Is that cheap or expensive?
gw77
So on top of the price I have there, I have to buy mapping software?
Guest fishrunner
Hi there, I have the garmin gps map76, works very well, takes map data upto 8meg,- which covers most size maps. This unit though isn't colour, good value for money at around $480 I think. has all the features as per garmin,- floats, shockproof, etc. Bluechart is round the $300, though as mentioned comes with world map,( very rough though,-as I fish on the land in my boat quite regularly). good luck in your search. cheers
TailorNut
I own a Navman PIN and would recommend it. Screen is great with full colour. http://www.navman.com/go/aus/products/index.html#pin Only problem is it isn't waterproof however i use a clear plastic bag when I go out fishing I use oziexplorer for boating and the built in navman software for navigation on the roads.
