smuggler
G'day guys, Only just found this photo. While getting frigate mackeral for bait at Jibbon in March last year One of them spat this on the deck.I'm guessing it's a juvenile billfish, does anyone know what sort or rough age? 0 boattart
I don't think it is a juvenile Billfish and Juvenile of most species are notoriously hard for a layman to ID. I suggest you send a photo to Jullian Pepperell. Probably the easiest way is via his Bluewater column.

0 finin
lol unfortunately its not a juvi billfish of any sort,im 90% sure its a snipefish. A favourite food of marlin and dollies. Usually marlin get stoned eating these and they will lay on their side usually oblivious. Quite funny to see actually.

At the end they find a Sailfish nursery and film the juveniles.
