I've just read a post by mrsswordie re: man fined in lake Macquarie for excessive lines.

In the article it says a fisher can not have more than 2 rigged lines, but on the fisheries site it says 4.

Not that i fish with more than one but, i always have 2 rods with me and ussually a hand line, and thought i was being legal.

Can anyone clarify this?

It is 4 per person, here's link to the rules for NSW

This is for SALT water

It's 2 for FRESH water, here's link to the rules

FRESH water rules

The post you refer to was for fresh water fishing in the "Macquarie" are, not Lake Macquarie.

The post says.....

A recreational fisher has been ordered to pay over $3100 in fines and professional costs for possessing illegal fishing lines adjacent to Little River, near Wellington in the Central West.
