brettmann86 Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Name: Winnie Bay Type of ledge: High Dry Ledges Parking: Available on cape three points road, near the water tower. Public Transport Accessible: N Walking Distance: takes about 30min to the ledge from parking Ease of Access and how to acess: Long downhill hike, remember as the walking is easy on the way down it's all up hill after a long days fishing carrying all you gear and your catch so pack light and take plenty of water. When to fish: As the ledges are quite high from the water any swell under 2m is fine although cleats are still advised as the sandstone rocks are covered in fine loose sand and do not give much grip. When not to fish it: High wind, and in any swell over 2m. Target species: blackfish, luderick, bonito, kingfish, salmon, trevalley, Bream Recommended Rigs/Baits: quite a flat snagless bottom so most rigs for bottom bouncing are fine, although livebaiting and spinning produce the larger quality fish. Phone reception: poor Angel Rings accessible: No MAP Circle is where parking is available, near the water tower Arrow is where the ledges are. Safety tips: -Always fish this ledge with a partner -Use cleats as the rocks are covered on fine sand.
