dean
Spent Sunday in the mountains chasing a few trout. The river copped a fair amount of rain the weekend before and I was hoping it had settled enough for a fish. My dad was along for the ride and when we finally reached the river It was running high and dirty. Visibility was about a foot and the high flow made things difficult but the little fish didn't seem to mind, the bigger fish though just weren't interested. Fished till lunch time and dropped more fish than we landed, they were a mixture of rainbows and browns. I did pack my 4wt for this trip hoping to catch a few on the dry but we didn't see a rise all day. After lunch we relocated to a section of the coxs river I've never fished before. The river was up but running clear, passed a few others fishing they had no luck and that's how we ended up after a couple of hours. We did see some nice fish though, It's a section I'll fish again. Even though the bigger fish didn't want to play it was still an enjoyable day and I can't wait to get up there again. Cheers, Dean My dad with an average fish Dirty river, this section usually produces a few fish but nothing today. A clean coxs
irongustavius
Where did you jump into the Cox's? A few weeks back I went with Caddis and Flycaster for one fish between the three of us. Then recently I saw a report on another forum about a great fishing trip right where we were. It's a mercurial river.
