Went out wide in search of some marlin......lucked out on that front....but on the plus side we found a deep mark and dropped some rigs into the abyss. The results were some nice Blue Eye cod and this.....................one ugly/pretty/crazy/facinating/ Big ass Bass groper!!!! We were fishing in 550mtrs of water...somewhere wide off the shelf Broken Bay way. I know dudes get Bass Groper out at Browns as well but this is the first truly big one I have come across! The two guys holding the fish in the pic....one is 6ft tall and the other guy is 6'3" just to give you an idea of scale Bass Groper weighed 40.95kg....big guy!
