Quick post to show Eucumbene trout over Dec. Both caught in the middle of the day!!

Beauty Brown caught on gold minnow.

And then this little mongrel rainbow - on the same lure. Any ideas why it looks so deformed?

A serious reply it can happen to stockies where there is a deforamtion, have sen it in a couple of fish in NZ.

Oh by the way did you release the brown only reason I ask survival rate for trout with fingers in gills equals not good! Also some people take offence if it ain't clarified!!!! :biggrin2:

I ate it!!!

And so did the non fish eating missus.

Filleted and deboned.... a very usefull trick deboneing.

Baked with veggies - oven cooked with a can of tinned peaches - yummo!

Sorry mr brown trout - I am sorry I ate you... but you were the first one I have ever caught and I wanted to know what you tasted like.

Awesome Chewy glad the brown was good on the plate I have only ever eaten trout out of Taupo that tasted anygood! Most other trout I've eaten have been like mud! A lot to do with the substrate! And don;t apologise to the trout it wa sconsumed not caught mishandled and photographed and put back to die!
