Heath R
Just got back from a 10 day holiday staying at Rainbow Bay. Didn't get as much fishing in as I liked due to surfing drinking and family and friend commitments. A few good fish were caught all landbased in the Tweed. I got two flatties over 60cm heaps of big eye trevs and Taylor but the standout fish was caught by my brother a nice GT caught on a 2500 reel and only 12lb leader on a metal slug and boy did it give him some curry. paul.kenny
Wow, nice fish from the beach your brother must have been stoked. Was he casting at fish actively feeding or into structure?
Heath R
G'day Paul We were casting at feeding fish busting up on the surface. I'm not sure if it was a school of GTs or if he was hanging under a school of something else. This little beach was at the entrance to a little lake and a nice rockwall on the other side. My brother did really well to keep it away from the rockwall and it nearly spooled him twice
bombora
That's a great effort with sand between the toes!Good stuff. What size were the big eyes?
Heath R
G'day Bombora Mate the biggest big eye would of been lucky to be pushing 2kg but still good fun on the bream gear. Most of them were caught at the western entrance at Jack Evans harbour on plastics and small hardbodies
bombora
Two kays of shallow water big eye would be a blast too!
